Horse-Talk about Horsemanship and Training
If you've been around horse people long enough you know that most of them love horse-talk. It's one of the ways of being involved in the horse world. What appeals to me most in such talk is when I hear 'horse sense' being expressed. Practically speaking horse sense is very important but it is not as readily available as one might desire. What is 'horse sense' and how does one acquire it? To address those questions, I have chosen to begin this section with some reflections on the subject. I have chosen that topic as the first to talk about, because I would hope that horse sense would characterize my treatment of all the topics I shall talk about in this section. For openers I will also provide some talk on the topic of 'women and horses'. I hope that you will find my comments not just interesting enough to hold your attention, but more importantly to provoke your own thoughts on the topics and in that way to help you develop your own skill and philosophy as a horseman/woman.
